The Foods of La Vendemmia (The Harvest)

This time of year it's the foods on a stick that tend to get the most attention. In the wine regions of the world, street foods and celebrations revolve around the grape harvest!

Our il Forno chef, Antonio Cecconi, knows the foods of the harvest first-hand. He was born and raised in Sardinia, Italy where the harvest includes family and friends--and food and wine.

For La Vendemmia at Villa Bellezza, we'll be celebrating throughout the harvest months! Chef Antonio will be sharing his versions of popular Italian street and harvest foods prepared his way. In addition to our regular menus, you'll also see limited time featured dishes and small plates featuring traditional Italian ingredients and fresh produce from the chef's garden--some will even be served on a stick!

A few of the special features Chef Antonio has planned include:
  • Swordfish Kabobs with fresh garden basil and lemon sauce
  • Caprese Kabobs with garden fresh tomatoes
  • Woodfired Pesto Chicken on a stick
  • Oven-seared Beef Kabobs
  • Classic Savory Italian Meatball Sandwich

Each dish can be a meal, or a nibble to share. The sights, tastes, smells of these specially prepared dishes, paired with your favorite Villa Bellezza wines, will make you feel as though you're dining at a European street-side cafe! Offered at il Forno and on our Piazza throughout the harvest season, we hope you'll make plans to join us for a taste of the Mediterranean and experience an Italian grape harvest close to home.
