2021 St. Pepin
St. Pepin ’21 Wins Big
Our winemakers submit our wines to international competitions to challenge themselves by putting our wines up against wines from around the world.
We are pleased to announce another BIG win for Villa Bellezza wines. In the prestigious Winemakers Challenge International Wine Competition, St. Pepin ’21 was awarded a Platinum medal and named Best White Hybrid Wine! As you can see, our winemaker, Katherine Kujak, is pretty happy about that.
St. Pepin is a dry white wine featuring a bold nose of citrus and peach and a crisp finish. It goes well with most foods, although it’s an especially great pairing with seafood.
We invite you to visit our tasting room or restaurants to taste St. Pepin ’21 for yourself. This wine is also available for online orders.
The results of our first 2021 international competition, the 2021 San Diego International Challenge, have been announced. We’re thrilled to share that once again Villa Bellezza wines have scored among the highest rankings in their categories! Both wines have a long list of medals to their credit. However, it’s always exciting to see how they perform with each new vintage.

2017 Zitella
Gold (92 points)
Zitella is true to the local Maiden Rock legend which teaches that it is better to enjoy a great wine than to settle for second best. A blend of La Crescent and Prairie Star, this semi-sweet medium-body wine has apricot and apple aromas and flavors with floral notes. A multi-gold medal winner and previously acknowledged as Best in Class, Zitella has grown a following among those who enjoy semi-sweet whites. We know Zitella fans will be as happy as we are to hear of this vintage’s performance in this most recent competition.

2019 Cotes Du Pepin White
Gold (90 points)
Cotes Du Pepin White 19 is a blend of La Crescent and Prairie Star grapes. A dry, medium body white wine with flora and citrus aromas, and stone fruit and citrus flavors. Cotes Du Pepin White has a long list of medals to its credit, including a Double Gold and Best Hybrid Blend. We look forward to releasing this wine to the Tasting Room soon where guests can compare their own impressions to that of the judges.
Winning medals in these competitions is not easy. The judges are experienced tasters that have significant involvement in the industry, running the gamut from marketing consultants who represent large wine portfolios to Master Sommeliers. Medal winners are chosen through a rigorous judging process often consisting of days of precise blind tastings.
One-third of the wines made at Villa Bellezza Winery and Vineyards have scored 90 points or better in international competition. We’re proud to be crafting wines that compete–and win–on the world stage. However, the most intense competition takes place within the walls of our own winery as we continue to strive for the best of the best with every Villa Bellezza wine we make.
